Chronos Lives!  [posted by Trestkon]

Inspired by a stint of skinning and voice acting with TNM, Cyan has picked up on the Chronos roject once again. The humble website, found at www.planetdeusex.com/chronos, reflects what new changes have taken place. At the end of PhaseII, Chronos will completely rework the entire aesthetics of Deus Ex while at the same time slightly altering gameplay with added side missions, a new bullet time augmentation, and even the evil JC Denton. Much of this has already been done and according to the scope of things, the rest of Phase II appears to be a downhill battle.

Conversely, Phase III is on the horizon. A Phase that will allow you to stay with Unatco and take on new, never seen before missions. Large visions there. Chronos aspires to be the never-ending modification, but always releasing. Screenshots coming soon.

Power & Love Mod  [posted by Trestkon]

Straight from the horse's mouth:

"In January 2005, I've started a mod project. The mod is called Power&Love, and it has the following storyline:

Of course, I'm looking for modders of all kinds: mappers, modellers and coders, and also someone that would register on Internet forums and set up recruitment threads. Applications should be sent via email: atheix@o2.pl The address of the mod's website is www.powernlove.republika.pl - although it's in Polish domain, the contents are in English.

This is, IMO, worth posting it in the news."

PlanetDeusEx.com To Be Archived  [posted by Trestkon]

Gamespy has decided that the frontpage of PlanetDeusEx.com will be archived and no longer updated with news.

PlanetDeusEx has been the hub of the DX community for the last 4 years and everyone will be sad to see the news machine shut down. However, their forums will continue to operate normally.

We'd like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the PDX crew, especially Despot, the site director.

We'll be trying to step up our own news to make up for the lose of PDX, so watch this space for all your DX needs!

Zodiac - Complete!  [posted by Trestkon]

Sir Steve Tack the 3rd has at last completed his masterwork. The Zodiac mod is finished and part 3 has been posted!

Being the nice (but slightly slow [sorry Steve]) guy that I am I've put up mirrors to all of the Zodiac files. They are as follows:

ZodiacPart3_Upgrade.zip - Download this if you already have parts 1 and 2.
ZodiacPart3_Upgrade_Manual.sit - Download this if you're using a Mac and already have parts 1 and 2.
Zodiac_Full_Version.zip - Download this if (for whatever odd reason) you don't any the previous episodes of Zodiac already installed.

Steve deserves many thanks for crafting such a large and complete mod virtually by himself. Great job Steve!

The Namless Mod Update  [posted by Trestkon]

This week's update of The Nameless Mod brings two new audio files: A sample of Trestkon's voice with a filter applied to make it fit his character better, and one of the songs from the TNM sound track, which has been donated by the Danish band Frog'n'Care. A poll has also been created on the mod's public forums, in which you're encouraged to express your opinion on the Trestkon voice sample. My End.  [posted by AsylumX]

Well guys and gals, I began DXEditing with Jered nearly three and a half years ago. Although hidden in the shadows, I've been lurking around for the past year or so allowing (or rather being thankful for) DerianX to handle all matters concerning the site as I have gotten involved with numerous other projects, namely that one we call 'Life'.

Thank you to the community of loyal fans of Deus Ex, few as you may be. And of course a "Cheers" is in order for the regular hermits dwelling in #dxediting. Wee, Carone, Derina, Jim, Lang, Despot, TRM...the list goes on and on, you know who you are.

Good luck with all future endeavors, and a heartfelt thanks for everything.

Sincerely,
Justin "AsylumX" Billington

oh and
P.S. if I found out who stole my fajitas, you're dead.

UK site for DX:IW launched  [posted by Stone]

The UK version of the Deus EX:Invisible war site has been lauched. A new feature is a video of Warren Spector (all hail!) talking about the sequel, it also has some ingame footage. Unfortunately though the release date is scheduled for spring 2004! I hope this isn't true as it would be an awful shame having to wait around while our friends across the pond get steeped in conspiracy.

TNM Seeks Mapper  [posted by Trestkon]

Yet again The Nameless Mod must send a call into the ever evaporating pool of mappers and summon forth a professional. Currently, production is moving along, but it would be a great boon to have an additional mapper on the team. We are looking for someone experienced and adept at their craft, as they will be completing a level that has been started and is quite high caliber. If you are interested in this position, please email me (Trestkon@planetdeusex.com) with a link to, or a sample of your work. The DX community may be small, but we know you UED wranglers are out there, Off Topic Productions needs you!

TNM Seeks Hex-Proof Coder  [posted by Trestkon]

As seems to be the norm for us, we must yet again search the community for a brilliant coder. Preferable, this invdividual would be hex-proof, as it seems someone has placed some sort of a voodoo curse on the TNM coding position (*glares at randomatic)

Seriously though, we are seeking a competant coder who will be able to impliment our many cheat codes, hammer out our modified hud and in general made our crazy ideas a reality.

If this sounds like you, please email me at Trestkon@planetdeusex.com or drop by our forums.
